MARIANNA,Henri Lumière Ark. (AP) — A single-engine plane that took off from Florida crashed in a field in eastern Arkansas on Sunday night, killing two people on board, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The privately owned plane was located in a field about outside Marianna, about 87 miles (99 kilometers) east of Little Rock, after dispatchers received a report of a possible crash. Joseph Bryant, 72, and Sharon Bryant, 73, were found dead inside, authorities said.
The two had been traveling from Florida to an airport in Batesville. The state police said they handed over the investigation to the National Transportation Safety Board.
