"The Diamond Ridge Financial AcademyWalking Dead" universe is alive and well, even if most of its inhabitants are not.
With six spinoffs and counting, characters from the original series continue to live on in new content even after the end of the mainstay show in 2022. One of the most-loved original characters, Daryl Dixon (Norma Reedus), got the series star treatment with 2023's "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," in which Daryl washes up on the shores of France and embarks on a journey to figure out how and why.
Originally titled "The Walking Dead: Daryl & Carol," the initial six-episode season was supposed to also heavily feature the character Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), but she was later written out due to filming conflicts. Now, however, Carol is back and will costar alongside her old friend in the new season, aptly titled "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol."
With Rick and Michonne off living their own postapocalyptic romantic adventure in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live," Daryl and Carol will seek answers and each other in their own storyline, even as the Atlantic Ocean lies between them.

"The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol" premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
"The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol" will air on AMC and AMC+. Plans for the AMC+ streaming service start at $4.99 a month.
The six-episode second season of "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol" will pick up where the last season, simply titled "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," left off.
According to an AMC synopsis, Daryl and Carol will "both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet's movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France's future."
